Recently a national poll found that 30% of Democrats believe in socialism, as I do. I believe corporate greed is the root of the problems we face and we would be better off if working people and their organizations were in charge, rather than the corporations. So I belong to organizations that fight for the rights of working people. That includes my union – the Communications Workers of America – the AFL-CIO, to which I am a delegate, Cleveland Jobs With Justice, where I serve on the Steering Committee, and the Communist Party, which, despite the stereotypes and fear-mongering promoted during the Cold War, has a long and distinguished record of working for the economic, civil and democratic rights of the American people.



I love my country. I am proud to pledge allegiance to the flag. I will be proud, if elected, to swear to uphold the Constitution of the United States. In particular I will be proud to uphold the Bill of Rights, which guarantees all Americans the right to free speech and freedom of association.
