Members of the Cleveland City Council today praised Lee Fisher’s
plan to create good-paying jobs and rebuild Ohio’s middle class in their
unanimous endorsement of his U.S. Senate campaign. The Council voted 18 to 0 in
support of Lee Fisher.
Fisher unveiled his plan to create incentives for businesses to create jobs,
protect families facing foreclosure, and hold Wall Street and big banks
accountable during a speech last month at Cleveland’s City Club. To read Lee's

City Council President Martin Sweeney said, “We know Lee, and we support him
because he’s been on the ground working to create good-paying jobs and protect
middle class families here in Cleveland whose lives have been torn apart by this
punishing recession.”
Sweeney added, “We also know Congressman Rob Portman and his strong support for
trade policies that ship our jobs overseas. As architect of the Bush economy, we
know better than to send Congressman Portman back to Washington to do more
damage to Ohio families.”
Lee Fisher said, “I’m proud to have the support of Cleveland’s community leaders
as we work together to create jobs across Cleveland and our state. Ohioans
deserve a leader who is dedicated to rebuilding our middle class and keeping
good-paying jobs here in Ohio, not exporting them overseas.”
