Columbus Latin band to appear in Painesville! (See Spanish Version Below)

In an exclusive El Sol De Cleveland telephone interview on Monday July 19, 2010, staff writer William Detki, recently got the chance to talk to Mayra Hernandez, lead singer of Mayra y La Fuerza Del Amor. Mayra y La Fuerza Del Amor will be appearing at the Lake County Fairgrounds for Latino Day on Sunday August 22, 2010.

Releasing her first album when she was just 14 years old, the Mexican-American singer from Columbus, Ohio is now 19 years old and is ready to take on the music world by storm.

Sol: Were you born in Columbus, Ohio?

MH: No, I was originally born in Mexico but I was raised in Ohio.

Sol: When did you graduate high school?

MH: I just recently graduated high school and received my associates’ degree at the same time. I did a program called Post-Secondary while in high school where I would attend high school in the morning and college in the afternoon for 2 years. My degree is in Business.

Sol: Would you want your degree in Business to serve as a back up just case your dream as a singer doesn’t work out?

MH: Definitely. I’ve been in the music industry for a while and sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. When it comes to money, sometimes you get paid and sometimes you don’t so I needed a “plan b”. Music is want I want to do for the rest of my life, but I don’t want to rely on it.
