Bookmark and Share

Cleveland, Ohio, February 24, 2011 – First Vice President of the Young Latino Network Ruth Ramos has been named as part of a diverse group of judges for the third annual Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage “Stop the Hate: Youth Speak Out!” essay contest. The involvement of Ms. Ramos and these other exceptional community leaders will impress upon our young people the significance of the topic of ending hate and discrimination.

Judges will read and score 26 semi-finalist essays that received the highest scores from more than 200 community volunteers who served as “readers”. The aggregate scores from the judges will narrow the field to ten 11th and 12th grade finalists who will compete for a total of $100,000 in scholarships and prizes. Judges will hear the ten finalists make oral presentations at the awards ceremony on April 10 at Severance Hall to complete the scoring which determines the scholarship winners.
