Cleveland, Ohio (March 16,2011)-MedWorks, one of Cleveland’s newest charitable healthcare organizations, will once again join forces with the Free Clinic of Greater Cleveland to provide free dental services. MedWorks was formed to improve access to healthcare for Ohio’s uninsured and underinsured populations by partnering with healthcare providers, corporate sponsors and an array of volunteers. Similarly, a key component of the Free Clinic’s mission is to provide quality healthcare and related services free of charge to those who lack appropriate alternatives.
This extraction only clinic will be held on Saturday May 14th from 8 am until 5 pm at the Free Clinic, 12201 Euclid Ave. This clinic will serve both adults and children. Staffers from University Hospital will provide extractions and fluoride treatment for children up to age twelve on their Ronald McDonald Care Mobile unit. The complimentary event will also serve to educate attendees on the importance of proper dental hygiene. Although appointments will be scheduled in advance, walk-ins will be welcomed on a limited basis.
The success of our earlier dental clinics, where nearly a thousand people were treated illustrates the overwhelming number of people who can’t afford basic dental care. “These are tough economic times,” said Zac Ponsky, MedWorks founder “but we don’t believe dental care should be viewed as a luxury.”
To schedule an appointment if you are an adult needing an extraction, please call the Free Clinic starting April 27th at (216)721-4010. If your child needs an appointment, please call MedWorks at (216)231-5350.
MedWorks would also like to announce our upcoming events of a mass medical clinic at Neighborhood Family Practice on June 11th and a massive vision clinic at Quicken Loans Arena on July 20th.
