Los Angeles, CA - - Star of Showtime’s hit series Weeds, Enrique Castillo lent his presence in support of PADRES Contra El Cancer, a nationally recognized organization committed to improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families. At an exclusive event held this past Saturday on March 26, 2011 at La Cita in historic Downtown Los Angeles, Castillo introduced Multi-platinum Texan rockers Los Lonely Boys as they took the stage and treated their guests to a very special performance featuring songs from their new album, Rockpango, set to release March 29, 2011.
The event was part of PADRES campaign designed to raise awareness on a national level for children with cancer from all races and ethnicities who are in need of financial assistance to continue treatment. Elvia Barboa - PADRES CEO, states “It is the thoughtfulness and dedication from groups like Los Lonely Boys that help PADRES achieve its mission to serve children and families battling pediatric cancer and blood disorders.” “We are excited to raise awareness to help Padres in their support of children in need. Join us in helping these kids have a future. Now is the time,” says Jojo Garza.
Enrique Castillo has also participated in the Padres Contra el Cancer’s 4th Annual Stand for HOPE 5K Charity Run/Walk at the Pasadena Rose Bowl in February and next, Castillo will be visiting some of the young patients affected by the disease at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. “I am proud and honored to support Padres efforts in the fight against cancer and I look forward to future opportunities in working with them,” said Castillo about his partnership with the organization.
