“These rankings illustrate the strength of Cleveland Clinic’s value to communities throughout northeast Ohio ,” said David Bronson, M.D., President of Cleveland Clinic Regional Hospitals. “While all hospitals can’t be all things to all people, we are here to serve the needs of every patient in the region by building a healthcare system that places a highly specialized hospital at the center to handle the most difficult cases, with smaller centers of excellence in local communities.”

In U.S. News’ “2010-11 Best Hospitals,” released last July, Cleveland Clinic ranked as the fourth best hospital in America, while its heart program ranked as the best in the nation for the 16th consecutive year. In all, 14 Cleveland Clinic specialties ranked in the Top 10 nationally: Heart & Heart Surgery (1); Urology (2); Gastroenterology (2); Rheumatology (2); Pulmonology (3); Kidney Disorders (3); Gynecology (4); Orthopedics (4); Diabetes/Endocrine Disorders (6); Neurology & Neurosurgery (6); Ear, Nose & Throat (8); Cancer (9); Geriatrics (10); and Ophthalmology (10).
Lutheran Hospital also ranked among “2010-11 Best Hospitals,” ranking 42nd in neurology and neurosurgery. Fairview Hospital (respiratory care, 33) and Hillcrest Hospital (digestive disorders, 41,
