Eduardo ( Eddie ) Alicea has been boxing since the age of 9 years old. Eddie’s father brought Eddie to the former TEAM AMERICA gym on W 25th. It is here where he met Renardo Safo. Mr. Safo has been Eddie’s trainer ever since. He boxes out of the MLK CENTER in East Cleveland, Ohio. Eddie has over 125 amatuer fights. Eddie fights at the 152 weight class. He is 17 years old.
Eddie is a student at Max Hayes High School. He is in 11th grade. In addition to boxing, Eddie is the starting forward and small guard on the HS basketball team.
Eddie is very committed to boxing and follows a 2 hour workout each day to develop his skills. His hard work has paid off recently as Eddie has travelled to Russia and represented the USA in the 2007 World Cadet Team. ( August of 2007 ). Eddie has also won a gold medal in the 2007 National Junior Olympics and was voted the most oustanding fighter by USA boxing in the tournament.
