Cleveland, OH -- Housing advocate Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater Cleveland (NHSGC) today launched an online foreclosure prevention Web site for homeowners at risk of foreclosure looking to save their homes. Now homeowners can apply foreclosure prevention and intervention services in the privacy of their own homes, libraries, community computer centers or other convenient locations and receive a response from NHSGC within approximately 24 hours.
“We needed to reach more at-risk homeowners with foreclosure prevention counseling, homeownership education and tips to avoid foreclosure as well as provide easier access to rescue funds, and this new site opens our doors wide to what we do best, giving homeowners the best options to maintain sustainable homeownership, said Lou Tisler, executive director of NHSGC, a member of the national NeighborWorks network. “A lot of people cannot come into our office or even make a phone call during work hours so this is an easy, alternative way they can get help fast.”
As one of 12 NeighborWorks housing advocates in Ohio, NHS of Greater Cleveland is leading foreclosure prevention programs in Northeast Ohio through administering rescue funds from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, the Office of Housing and Community Partnerships, counseling homeowners through the HOPE Hotline and the County’s 211 hotline.
“Nothing is worse than doing nothing,” Tisler continues. “Whether it’s on the phone, in person or online, the faster homeowners reach out for help, the easier we can help them.”
The Web site walks homeowners through the intake process to begin foreclosure prevention and intervention at www.nhscleveland.org/intake/ Tips for avoiding foreclosure are located at:
