Azteca América announced today it welcomed Niurka Marcos, Spanish-language “Queen of Controversy” to its air tomorrow night. The sensual and talented singer, actress and interviewer will host El Show de Niurka (Niurka’s Show), a series of 3 fun-filled variety specials in November which will air on November 12th at 9 pm E/8 C, on November 19nd at 9 pm/8 C and on November 26th at 9 pm/8 C with encore performances on Saturday nights. The show is slated to return to prime time Monday through Friday starting in January 2009.
“For the first time in the U.S., the versatile actress, dancer and singer leads a talented team of actors through a collection of edgy comedic sketches, spectacular musical productions, contests and interviews with exciting special guests, all made especially for the Latino audience in the United States,” said Alberto Santini, EVP of Programming and Production. “Niurka Marcos brings the type of to-quality entertainment that Azteca America viewers really want to see.”
Joining the electrifying Niurka each week will be the wild, outspoken Daniel Bisogno of Ventaneando América fame and María Elena Saldaña well-known to Mexican and Latin American audiences as the consummate comedienne, “La Güereja.” Together, they will skewer the famous in show business and politics, act in comic sketches that will spare no one and nothing, and Niurka is sure to heat up the screen with her patented sensual singing and dancing style. Directed and written by Luis Ernesto Cano, whose previous hits include Derbez en Cuando, Cachun Cachun Ra Ra and the late night hit Mascabrothers, El Show de Niurka is sure to be the break-out hit everyone will be talking about.
